Father Yeo was gracious to
answer the Class of 1952's  
request for a special Memorial
Mass for all the deceased St.
Michael H.S. Alumni. We lit
candles  for our deceased
classmates and family ,and
Father Yeo celebrated mass for
us in the newly renovated St.
Michael Church in Jersey City.

Father Wilfred Yeo

Rev. Wilfred C. Yeo, 80, of Carteret, N.J.,
entered into eternal life on Wednesday,
March 7, 2012, at Allendale Nursing
Home, Allendale, N.J. Visitation will be
held at Immaculate Heart of Mary
Church, 1571 S. Martine Ave., Scotch
Plains, N.J. 07076, Tel: (908) 889-2100,
on Sunday, March 11, from 3 p.m.
through 7 p.m. The Vigil Mass will be
celebrated at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will
also be held on Monday, March 12, from
9 a.m. to 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian
Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m.
Interment will take place at Holy Cross
Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J. Funeral
arrangements are entrusted to the Earl
F. Bosworth Funeral Home, Hoboken,
N.J. Born Nov. 20, 1931, in Jersey City,
N.J., to the late Wilfred F. and Julia (nee
Hurley) Yeo, Wilfred entered
Immaculate Conception Seminary after
two years at Seton Hall University, South
Orange, N.J. Ordained a priest in the
Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark
on May 31, 1958, at the Cathedral
Basilica of the Sacred Heart, he was
assigned to Queen of Angels Parish,
Newark, N.J. (1958-1966); Our Lady of
Grace, Hoboken, N.J. (1966-1976); St.
Francis, Ridgefield Park, N.J.
(1976-1983); Immaculate Heart of
Mary, Scotch Plains, N.J. (1983-1995)
and briefly at Holy Name of Jesus Parish,
Garfield, N.J. In 1996, he began his
ministry as a chaplain ministering at
Hackensack University Medical Center;
St. Francis Hospital, Jersey City, N.J.,
and St. Mary's Hospital, Hoboken, N.J.,
continuing until 2001. He was
predeceased by his brother, Robert Yeo.
He was the beloved brother of Patricia
O'Donnell and her husband, James;
cherished uncle of Robert and Kimberly
Yeo, Dennis, James Jr., and Kevin
O'Donnell and Eileen Perez. He is also
survived by many grand-nieces and
nephews.
