MORRIS TWP. -- Sister Julia Anne O'Keefe,  91, educational ministry a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died on Thursday, April 26, 2007, at Saint Anne Villa, in the Convent Station section of Morris Township. She was 91.

Sister Julia was born in Hoboken, the daughter of John and Julia (O'Connor) O'Keefe.

She entered the Sisters of Charity on March 25, 1934, and was a member for 73 years.

Sister Julia engaged in educational ministry in New Jersey, at St. Michael Elementary and High School, Jersey City; St. John High School, Paterson; Sacred Heart Academy, Hoboken; St. Mary High School, Elizabeth; and St. Peter and Paul, Virgin Islands.

She retired to Saint Anne Villa, where she resided until her death.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

The wake for Sister Julia will be held in Saint Anne Villa Chapel, Convent Station, from 2 to 5:30 p.m., on Monday, April 30, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m.

Burial will be on Tuesday, May 1, in Holy Family Cemetery, Convent Station at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that contributions be made to the Sisters of Charity Development Fund, P.O. Box 476, Convent Station, N.J. 07961-0476.
